It’s reassuring to find that sometimes you don’t have to use expensive materials to make an interior that is stylish and striking.
Plywood is a great example of this. Long maligned as a low-grade wood option, it has recently seen a resurgence in interior design through its aesthetic, as well as its obvious economical value!
This bedroom makes great use of bare plywood to create a lovely soft and warm backdrop to the white soft furnishings and dark flooring. This effect is really strengthened through its application across the entire wall, relatively cheap given the raw materials!
And this living room makes a real feature of its panelled plywood wall by leaving one third of the wall plain white to really exaggerate the charming, untreated wood textures.
Plywood chic can also be seen in this delightful bedroom which features a plywood built-in wardrobe that again offers a warming backdrop to the well-chosen cool blue hues of the soft furnishings and wallpaper.
Another great advantage of working with plywood is that, given the cost, it is relatively cheap and customisable to meet a variety of means, as illustrated by this great kid’s working area that is both functional and chic!
And another great feature of plywood is the way it transmits light across its clean surfaces in such a natural way. This kitchen makes perfect use of the white walls and dark grey kitchen units to define the chic plywood floor – and ceiling!
