It’s interesting how some countries can conjure up an instantly recognisable interior style just by the mention of their name. And Morocco is an excellent example of this.

Famous for its earthy tones, vibrant colours, wrought iron furniture, rich tapestries and ubiquitous hanging lanterns, the Moroccan feel is all about creating a magical atmosphere with a few key features.

This wonderfully inviting kitchen doorway gives us an excellent glance into Moroccan chic. The cool aquamarines and turquoise tile-work creates an enchanting entrance into the simple, yet effective green wooden furniture inside, whilst the single classic light fitting illuminates the sparsely enigmatic work space.

Whereas this bedroom provides a different view of the Moroccan style. Instead of cold ceramics, we are instead offered luxurious sparkling fabrics, with an enveloping Moroccan throw on the headboard. A beautiful ornately patterned wall provides a sumptuous backdrop, and the solitary wooden wall feature adds a touch of class!

A powerful use of colour is one of the key ingredients in defining the Moroccan inspired interior. This expansive living room pulls no punches by using rich turquoise walls in great contrast to the vivid scarlet and maroon soft furnishings. And the wonderfully chunky dark wooden cupboard doors really add weight and grandeur to the living space.

No mention of Moroccan interiors is complete without a mention of their amazing tiles and mosaics. This modern bathroom shows how adaptable their colourful and fascinating style is, especially when used with clean whites and wooden furniture.
