Headboards

I was reading an article over at Apartment Therapy about the use of wall stickers and it was talking about using wall stickers as headboards, like this image from their blog.

If you like to keep up to date with interiors you should bookmark Apartment Therapy as it is very insightful.

You could use some of our products to do a similar thing, like Tribe, Regal and even Train for the kids.

But we still like the odd flower too.

Babies and Young Children

My wife and I are expecting a baby, wohoo! So I suddenly start to think of certain things I've never thought before. I must admit to having scorned the 'baby market' thinking that marketeers are picking on easy targets, "because Mums and Dads will buy anything". What I didn't realise, though this is partly true, it is much more about the decision of the parents than the pushy techniques of the marketeers.

So I suddenly start thinking things like this "it's good for my child to be stimulated by colours and shapes whilst laying in bed, so lets buy a mobile". But as a designer I'm not happy with a mobile I want MORE. So I say lets do a full ceiling graphic (to which my wife says NO, she has to reel me in a lot). My point is why be limited by what the books say, of course a mobile is fun, but a ceiling full of graphics is more fun. Is it not?

I remember when I was a young lad, when I was old enough to have my own room my Dad painted two things in that room. One was a huge St. Andrews (Scottish) flag over one wall and the other was clouds on my ceiling. I was always the kid with the big imagination so an open sky above me was perfect for games and make believe aeroplane dog flights. So now I'm going to be a Dad too I think I want to give my child that same space to 'imagine'.

Watch this space as I do the nursery project to end all nursery projects... sneeky peek of the nursery wall paper.

...and here's October's winner from Keri Loveless - This simple but effective use of our Big Wheels and Cars shows how bold colours can make a striking impact on plain walls. Congrats, Keri!

Photo competition winner - September

Once again, apologies to you all, particularly those who have made the effort to enter the photo competition... We have been extremely busy and haven't announced the winners for September and October. So, here is September's winning entry from Suzanne Waters:

Well done, Suzanne, I like the considered use of contrasting colours on opposing walls to create a classy yet child-friendly room.

First studio artwork finished

Thought I'd just post our final image for the wall art we have been doing in our studio. Another part of our business is vehicle graphics or Moto Art as we call it so we want to theme the studio in a certain way.

You get see a few of our fitting pics over at our flickr site, while you are there take a look at some of the vehicle work we've done.

We also have a lot more artwork planned for the studio, so watch this space.
